The Router Mill is an experiment that I started almost 8 years ago. My goal was to build an accurate usable machine without going into extreme costs.I have built many machines with some of them being complete disasters. But each one has brought me closer to my current successful machines. Using laminated plywood and overlapping all joints on the frames make them almost as strong as steel. The goal was to make sure there are no moving parts guides or bearing surfaces constructed of wood. Everything that does move is either steel, aluminum or plastic. The machines are very smooth and easy to use. Because of the way they are built humidity does not affect the performance like many machines made from wood.
In the years that I have been working with the machine I find more and more things it can do, It has become a major tool in my shop. My hope was to get this out to other enthusiast and let them build one. And it was my original intention to make plans so others could build one. However the more I worked on it the more complicated the plans became and I realized that it almost takes a machine shop to accurately build one . The tolerances are close and I use my current machine to make many of the parts. I have sold a few complete machines , they are very time consuming and tedious to build.
At this point I am gearing up to go into more of a production mode so I can build them at a reasonable price. I will be posting more videos showing what the possibilities are of having one.
